Talk About Climate Change With Your Friends And Neighbors At This Interactive Open House

If you’re feeling fretful about the climate, there’s a place you can go: A master plan is coming to help Lower Manhattan become more resilient in the face of climate change, and you can learn all about it on Monday, February 24. Drop in on a climate community meeting at the Pace Downtown Conference Center (157 William Street) from 4p to 8p, led by the Lower Manhattan Coastal Resiliency Project, an integrated coastal protection initiative aimed at reducing flood risk due to coastal storms and sea level rise in Lower Manhattan.

The community meeting will be an immersive learning experience, split up into four rooms that focus on different aspects of the LMCR’s problem-solving efforts: The first is a general introduction to the LMCR and why it’s working to help the neighborhood; the second outlines the risks for Lower Manhattan; the third shows active projects going on right now in Lower Manhattan to help form a resilient future, and the fourth shows the master plan to make the Seaport District and Lower Manhattan in general as resilient as possible.

It’s a great opportunity to ask questions and become a part of the solution.
