National Small Business Week 2019 is May 5th through May 11th. In the spirit of this weeklong celebration,we’re highlighting nine of Lower Manhattan’s small businesses keeping our neighborhood vibrant and exceptional.

La Parisienne Cafe – 9 Maiden Lane

Oui, oui is what we say to stopping by this local French cafe! With fresh baked pastries for breakfast and the Croque Madame for lunch, Julie and Adrian Bruyère bring their love of food and experience working in top French restaurants to Lower Manhattan.

Greenwich Street Jewelers – 64 Trinity Place

Since 1976, sisters Christine and Jennifer Gandia have provided New Yorkers with a personalized jewelry shopping experience. From vintage jewelry to pieces from emerging designers, this spot provides a diverse array of jewelry for every occasion and style.

Magic Mix Juicery – 102 Fulton Street

Ready to get healthy and feel great? Jil Larsen is a certified health coach who makes healthy living effortless for those who want to balance the hustle and bustle of the New York City lifestyle with healthy living. Stop by their location at 102 Fulton Street to experience their freshly pressed juices and their delicious vegan offerings.

Sons of Thunder – 225 Pearl Street

Sample tastes of the West Coast with a stop at Sons of Thunder.  Brothers James and John Kim bring the flavors of California and Hawaii to Lower Manhattan. Their restaurant was named the best poke in a 2016 New York Time article, and Gothamist placed them on their list of the 12 best hot dogs in New York City.

Ryan Maguire’s – 28 Cliff Street

A neighborhood mainstay since 1995, Mena and Tommy Maguire provide thirsty travelers an authentic Irish pub experience. Trivia nights, Beer Pong and daily happy hour specials make this is a destination for friends to relax and have fun.

Fountain Pen Hospital – 10 Warren Street

Pen enthusiasts rejoice! Terry and Steve Wiederlight bring a combined 60 years of experience to repairing and selling fountain pens. They offer the largest variety of pens from all over the globe as well as personalized pens for corporate logos and engraving.

Five & Dime – 8 Park Place

Coffee plus cocktail equals the best of both worlds. Located in the iconic Woolworth Building,  Mark Mohrmann brings his creative juices to this classic space. Stop by during the day for a cappuccino or stay in the evening for a cocktail like “Bee’s Knees” with gin, lemon, rosemary and honey.

City Blossoms – 62 Trinity Place

Original designs couple with a deep appreciation and knowledge of nature is key to this mother-daughter duo’s floral business. Inna Lipovsky opened City Blossoms in the 1980s, bringing her European flair with her. With her daughter, Karina, the mother-daughter duo design gorgeous arrangements for weddings, gardens corporate events and “anytime” bouquets.

Leo’s Bagels – 3 Hanover Square

Adam Pomerantz named his bagel shop after both his Uncle Leo and for the acronym of an old-time favorite: Lox, Eggs and Onions (yum!). Adam opened Leo’s in 2007 when he realized that the neighborhood deserved its own a local bagel spot. Take a walk to 3 Hanover Square to try one of their hand rolled NYC bagels.
