No matter who you are shopping for, or what’s on your list, Lower Manhattan has the store for you. Our neighborhood is home to hundreds of retailers, including some of the city’s most iconic brands. Almost 150 of them can be visited without ever going outside.

Go Luxe at Brookfield Place
An indoor version of shopping on Fifth Avenue, Brookfield Place offers gorgeous views of the Hudson River and more than 30 luxury brands, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Salvatore Ferragamo and the world’s only Hermès Parfumerie. In addition to its shopping lineup, Brookfield also features 14 chef-driven grab-and-go eateries in its Hudson Eats food hall. From Dec. 6 thru Dec. 13, Brookfield’s Vesey Hall will be home to a Holiday Lounge Pop-up featuring Maisonette, Pengallan and Molton Brown.
Shop Inside an Architectural Marvel
Westfield World Trade Center is just a quick escalator ride away from Brookfield Place and features over 100 retailers. This destination can easily help check off items on your holiday shopping list. The Apple Store has got you covered for high-tech gifts. Moleskin and Papyrus will make the pen and paper folks in your life happy. Upgrade the closet with mens’ clothes from Charles Tyrwhitt and women’s attire at COS. Put a smile on the kids faces with gifts from Toytoise. This time of year, it gets real festive with a pop-up holiday market that includes The Amazing Chocolate Workshop, Sam Dog Socks and Hanami Flower Jewelry! This shopping destination is inside of one of New York City’s most iconic structures, The Oculus, designed by Spanish star-chitect Santiago Calatrava.
Find a Fashionable Bargain at Century 21
Just 300 feet from Westfield World Trade Center is Century 21, a Lower Manhattan shopping institution for more than 50 years. Generations of bargain hunters with good taste have found designer clothes at great prices. There are bargains galore for women’s shoes and handbags, men’s custom suits, and perfume and cologne. Make sure time before leaving to check out Next Century, the retailer’s concept store that features up-and-coming designers. There’s also an in-house nail bar.
Get Crafty at the Smithsonian Native Market
Stop by the Smithsonian National Museum of the American on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 1 and 2, for the Native Art Market. This is your chance to purchase traditional and contemporary work from Native American artists. Crafts include ceramics, sculptures, fine apparel and handwoven baskets.
Check Out 70 Pine’s Holiday Market
From Nov. 30 thru Dec. 6, 70 Pine Street will be hosting a very festive holiday market with unique gifts. Bastille Flowers | Wreath and Wicked Candles offer boutique home goods; Lelo Fine Foods and Luscious Little Desserts will add a flare to your holiday menus; and House of Cork and GK Designs will give your wardrobe a new look for the new year.
Visit the Seaport to Explore Unique Boutiques
Head toward the East River for another of our neighborhood’s bustling shopping destinations – the Seaport District. Newcomers include 10 Corso Como which blends fashion, food, art, design and lifestyle, Sarah Jessica Parker’s SJP shoe store and pop-ups from designers Cynthia Rowley and Roberto Cavalli. They join boutiques like DITA Eyewear and Bowne & Co. Stationers in the area. Every Sunday in December from 11a-5p, Deck the Stalls comes to the Seaport in a celebration of the best of New York City’s public markets with vendors from Essex Market and Arthur Avenue among others. Make sure to check out the Fulton Stall Market which features local farmers and unique small-scale food producers. Stay warm with some hot cider or soup.
