GameON! Kicks-Off With “Love” From JGoldcrown

By: Frank Futia

Love is in the air in Lower Manhattan as it welcomes JGoldcrown’s (@jgoldcrown) newest creation to the neighborhood!

Fans can head down to today’s kick-off the Downtown Alliance’s GameON! free summer event series to catch his latest and new signature “Love Wall” on display in front of 77 Water Street. The insta-worthy mural features James’s signature bleeding hearts and “LOVE” in the Downtown Alliance’s signature red color.

Born in West London, JGoldcrown is a self-taught fashion photographer and artist as well as and award-winning documentarian. He incorporated mixed media into his photography influenced by his previous days as a street artist and started a workshop called The Shed Project which allowed people to interact in his studio space. In 2015, he had his first show at Miami Basel where his work sold out in two hours. JGoldcrown is now known internationally for his Bleeding Hearts/Lovewall murals that can be seen in international cities across the world with his most recent in Venice Beach, Beverly Hills, DUMBO and of course, Lower Manhattan.  The Lovewall has led him to work with brands and companies such as, Toms, L’Oreal, Rag & Bone, Sephora, Island Records, Universal, MTV, Vogue, Bandier, Rimowa Luggage, Henri Bendel, Armani and more. He is now based in LA and NY and sells his work privately.

And as part of the GameOn! fun, you can Instagram your photo in front of his Love Wall using the hashtag #GameOnNYC to be automatically entered for a chance to win our LOVE photo contest.  One lucky person will win dinner for 2 at the fabulous Andaz Kitchen & Bar.

Lower Manhattan’s first #LoveWall will be up through Labor Day, however you need to post your photo by 11:59 PM on Aug. 15.
