Greenmarket At Oculus Plaza Opens For Green Season

By: Caroline De Tino

Green season has arrived and is now open for business in Lower Manhattan!

With the greenmarkets in New York City finally open for the season, the choices are endless for fresh, locally sourced fruits, vegetables, cheeses, and more!

Even better is the opening of the Greenmarket at Oculus Plaza on June 5!  After its grand re-opening last year, they’re getting ready to burst with delicious baked goods from Meredith’s Country Bakery, maple syrup products from Roxbury Mountain Maple, cider from Nine Pin Ciderworks, and more local products.

Greenmarkets are just a short, convenient walk throughout Lower Manhattan! They can be found at: Oculus Plaza, Bowling Green, Water Street, City Hall, Fulton Stall Market, the Staten Island Ferry Terminal, and Tribeca. Schedules and other information about the greenmarkets can be found at www.grownyc.org.

EBT cards are now being accepted at most greenmarkets. For every $5 spent using your card, a $2 Health Buck coupon will be given for the purchase of additional fruits and vegetables.

Make this summer a healthy one, and get all fresh produce right here in Lower Manhattan!
