Brookfield Place is well known for great events to match the season so now it’s finally time for springtime fun! Here is what is planned so far at Brookfield Place.

Artist Carlos Rolon, in partnership with Arts Brookfield, will inspire you to get on a Citibike or get a bike of your own! His exhibition, When We Were Young is a unique display on bicycle riding that highlights engineering and artisan crafting. The creations range from populist expressions to cutting-edge designs that will attract you to this serious and sustainable means of transportation. Catch these works of art between May 7th to May 23rd from 10 am to 8 pm.

Onto music, Los Sonidos de Espana (The Sounds of Spain), is two days of performances highlighting the classical and flamenco guitar music of Spain in honor of this year’s NY Guitar Festival . A major addition this year are two legendary guitarists, Sharon Isbin and Pepe Romero, who will be performing both solos and in duos with other special guests in the evening concerts. Adam del Monte and Marija Temo will be featured in the afternoon matinees for a great mix of folk, pop, and classical music. Make sure to swing by Brookfield Place’s Winter Garden for these shows starting at 12:30 pm on May 18th and May 19th.

For the daredevil in all of us, check out SEA (Singular Extreme Actions). See the incredible performers by STREB Extreme Action Company combine dance, athletics, stunts and choreography that will blow your mind.  Performances take place on both May 24 and May 25 at 12:30 and 6 pm.

And finally, as a special performance by the River to River Festival, Of Granite & Glass will combine narratives with choreographic dialogue based on Boccaccio’s 24th century Decameron.  Watch as the Winter Garden’s marble staircase becomes part of the performance!  Shows taking place on June 15 & 16 at 7 pm and on June 17 at 5 pm.

So make sure to get out and check out all these great FREE events that are popping up at Brookfield Place.
