September might be widely recognized for back-to-school season, but, since we can’t fit in those tiny desks, let’s instead hone our career skills in adult-size seating at LMHQ (150 Broadway, 20th floor). As we roll out our 2019-2020 season of events, we are bringing back the series you know and love as well as expanding our offerings to include new formats, topics and opportunities to connect.

Return of the Women’s Breakfasts
LMHQ’s Women’s Breakfasts are back! We’re kicking off the season with a panel of intrepid women who are navigating the evolving media landscape as writers, producers and publishers (September 24). Learn what it takes to stay on top of the news and on top of your professional game as your industry changes by the day. In October, join us to hear from major female-led organizations combating gender inequality in tech (October 15), and in November we’ll be tackling the challenges of incorporating sustainability into fashion.

Eye on Design, Technology and Innovation
We’re increasing our focus on design, technology and innovation with a variety of new events and workshops: exploring how design impacts our behavior with ideas42 and Gensler; investigating breakthroughs and trends in blockchain and cryptocurrency in a series produced with Future\Perfect Ventures (October 10); learning how to advocate for sustainability in industries like fashion and e-commerce with the Bard MBA program. We’ll also be bringing back our Behind the Creative Curtain series, where we invite a creative brand to do a deep dive about a core aspect of the company’s DNA.

Expanding our Partnerships
We’re excited to shine a spotlight on our partnerships with organizations across New York City through a slate of co-hosted programs and events! In September, we’ll be hosting a fall kickoff with the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of NYC (September 9). In October, we’ll be producing an event with Impact Capital Forum about the “War Stories from the Trenches of Seed Funding”. We are partnering with our Lower Manhattan neighbors HarperCollins on two exciting fireside chats In November, we’ll be speaking with Alicia Menedez, contributing editor at Bustle, host of the Latina to Latina podcast and author of the upcoming book the Likeability Trap. In December, we’ll be speaking with Pauline Brown, former Chairman of North America for LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton and author of the upcoming book, Aesthetic Intelligence. And we’re excited to host more HarperCollins powerhouses in the months to come!

As always, we want LMHQ’s programming to reflect the interests of the creative community in Lower Manhattan. If you have ideas, questions or comments, please reach out to me, Elissa Verrilli, Director of Programs and Partnerships at elissa@lmhq.nyc.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!
