Lower Manhattan, which can claim the city’s oldest subway station, is now home to the New York Transit Museum’s newest store.
Located at 2 Broadway, the shop has everything you or your favorite straphanger could dream of when it comes to transit apparel and memorabilia. From Vignelli-map inspired socks to subway line emblazoned umbrellas, you will be ready for whatever your commute throws at you410
Their selection is so varied that Metrocard holders of all ages will find something that will put a smile on their face. Whether it’s the selection of books about the city’s long-gone elevateds that rumbled overhead for those old enough to remember when the Els still operated or onesies for the youngest New Yorkers who have never lived in a city without a Second Avenue Subway, the Transit Museum Store is the one and only stop you need for transit goodies.
A trip to the store is also a great opportunity to become a Transit Museum member. Membership not only gets you discounts at the shop, it also gives you lower prices on excursion trips and exclusive members-only tours of the ornate, abandoned City Hall station. All while helping the Transit Museum continue to offer great programs to all New Yorkers.
The store is open seven days a week (Mon – Fri from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM and Sat – Sun from 11 AM to 6 PM), so drop by and get your straphanger on!
