Fresh Green for a New Facade

Small businesses and property owners still hurting from Sandy may be eligible for grants up to $20,000 to spruce up storefronts under a new city program.

Launched by the New York City Department of Small Business Services and the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, the program will pair selected businesses with an architect on a new storefront design.

In order to participate, businesses or property owners must submit an application by November 1, 2013. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis with consideration given to geographic distribution and need.

In order to be eligible, properties must be in evacuation zones 1 through 6, the applicant must employ fewer than 100 employees in all locations, and the project work must be limited to exterior work, among other requirements.
