While you’re wandering the streets of Lower Manhattan, keep your eyes peeled – you might just see someone you follow on Instagram snapping photos of their food, the views, or one of the neighborhood’s hidden corners.

Instagram ‘influencers’ from all genres – foodies, families, photographers, world travelers – are re-discovering Lower Manhattan and using their lenses to share how the area is booming with new restaurants, hotels, shops, bars and lounges popping up almost daily.

World-traveling Instagrammer @cheatdayeats explored Downtown earlier this Fall, chronicling all that the neighborhood has to offer its visitors. @cheatdayeats spent her visit at the Andaz Wall Street, which is located near The Mailroom – our newest nightclub from the team behind The Surf Lodge and located in the actual mailroom of 100 Wall Street where WeWork / WeLive houses hundreds of entrepreneurs and startups.

After checking in at the Andaz and having this incredible dish made just for her, @cheatdayeats made her way over to the Tuck Room in the Seaport District where she instagrammed her amazing dessert, and toured through the many new shops and restaurants opening along the waterfront.

The next day, @cheatdayeats spent her birthday at Danny Meyer’s North End Grill in Battery Park City. Along her way she passed through Downtown’s shopping mecca that includes discount-fashion icon Century 21, 100+ shops at Westfield World Trade Center and the luxury shopping destination Brookfield Place.

Our next visit came two French influencers, @mary_quincy and @nathill. Mary captured the calm beauty of Battery Park City, while Nathalie focused on the modern architecture of the Oculus and the curves of the Fulton Street Subway Station. They snapped shots of the Hudson River views from their rooms at The Conrad New York, and spent the sunset at the hotel’s Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar. The two travelers extended their stay by checking in to the W New York Downtown, whose terrace overlooking the World Trade Center complex alone is worth the trip to Lower Manhattan, even for New Yorkers!

Most recently, Los Angeles-based photographer @cole_younger_ landed in Lower Manhattan for a quick weekend escape. Seeing our neighborhood through his lens as he wandered the streets was an incredible experience for all who watched. During his stay at The Beekman, he explored the charming backstreets of Pine, Ann, John and Water, captured the scenes of everyday life Downtown and this incredible sunset. He also brought his friends out to see the Volez Voguez Voyagez by Louis Vuitton exhibition, which gives rare access to the American Stock Exchange building at 86 Trinity Place.

Together these four tastemakers brought Lower Manhattan to one million fans and followers. You can visit vicariously with them and others like @nyc, @newyork, and of course @downtownnyc -but why not come experience it all first hand!
