The Yard Is LM’s Newest Co-Working Destination

In recent years, Lower Manhattan has changed dramatically. While the picturesque neighborhood is still home to many in the finance and legal community, the emergence of new co-working spaces fosters small businesses within tech and creative industries looking to reap the benefits of this historic area of the city.

New Yorkers have quickly caught on that LM is more than the Financial District, nostalgic cobblestone streets and 360 degree skyline views from its striking skyscrapers. With a growing, diverse community, the co-working spaces bring added convenience to the neighborhood. Residents and visitors can experience all that our area has to offer, from its eclectic restaurants and bars, abundance of gyms and wellness centers and a vibrant environment for a growing business.

With so much happening in our area these days, The Yard was thrilled to open one of its newest spaces in the neighborhood — The Yard: City Hall Park is located at 116 Nassau Street, just off the Fulton Street stop. Featuring private offices and dedicated desks, the newly renovated space is available 24/7 for members. .

The Yard evokes the feeling of balance between work and play. With a focus on creating an environment conducive to work and wellness, The Yard features an art gallery and on-site fitness and health programs. The gallery is curated through The Yard’s art program that features new artists’ shows every quarter.

Most recently, Square Roots, a farm technology project and entrepreneurial incubator, visited The Yard to host a farmer’s market for members. The Yard’s community had the opportunity to sample and purchase organic produce while learning about Square Roots’ entrepreneur program. Yelp also hosted an event, “Turn Photos Into Revenue”, in which business owners learned how to enhance the digital presence of their brand from professional photographer Nicky Digital of OutSnapped. Yelp representatives spent time chatting with attendees to answer questions about their Yelp Business Pages, plus some attendees walked away with complimentary photo sessions!

Steps away from the Fulton Center subway station a short walk from the PATH terminal at the Westfield World Trade Center Oculus,  the enviable balance of “Old New York” and a diversifying restaurant and night-life culture, the appeal of LM is stronger than ever. More businesses are catching on to the benefits of growing their business downtown, and co-working spaces are provide freelancers, start-ups and small businesses the type of space needed to succeed in the early days of their business. The Yard’s City Hall Park location helps them do just that.
