Ahoy! Hop Aboard For Floating Fun In LM
By: Caroline De Tino
With rooftop bars popping up in neighborhoods with the frequency of pharmacy chain stores, what’s a New Yorker to do to find a unique outdoor drinking experience this summer? Set sail!
Get those sea legs ready and cast away with the Honorable William Wall. Operated by the Manhattan Yacht Club, the group that helped re-introduce recreational sailing in New York Harbor, the “Willy Wall,” as it is affectionately referred to, is a 90 foot barge with a full-roof deck.
Anchored in New York Harbor just north of Ellis Island, the Willy Wall offers unrivaled views of the city’s skyline, the harbor, and the Statue of Liberty. Open to the public since 2012, the vessel also provides a spectacular viewing spot for when sailboat races take place.
This secret treasure is only open to limited people each evening so do not miss out on some of the best bar views in the city! In celebration of their re-opening next week, drinks at the Honorable William Wall will be half price from Tuesday through Friday evenings. Check out their Downtown Deal for more info.
