Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry, owners of 2015’s “world’s best bar” Dead Rabbit, have opened a Prohibition era-themed Cuban bar called BlackTail. Sporting the same name as the black-tailed luxury sea planes that transported “dry” New Yorkers From Pier A to the alcohol-abundant Cuba during the age of Prohibition — and a décor inspired by Ernest Hemmingway’s Famous Cuban home, Finca Vigia BlackTail brings a taste of Havana to Lower Manhattan.

Located at 22 Battery Place, BlackTail provides the perfect after-work spot, with scrumptious nightly dinners and a serious specialization in spirits. Their 88-page bar menu — more like a book telling its own story of Cuban cocktails — features 40 different concoctions sorted into the following categories: Highballs, Punches, Sours, Old-Fashioned and Cocktails. Lots of options to choose from and their 5 P.M.-2 A.M. hours mean you’ll have plenty of time to try as many as you’d like!
