A Warm Respite On A Cold Night
Smyth Hotel from Thompson Hotels on Vimeo.
Fancy a cool drink by a warm fire? Consider the Evening Bar in the Smyth Hotel — a cozy and chic refuge from the arctic weather, where you can sip artisanal cocktails that are shaken, stirred and everything in between.
Mixologist Anne Robinson whips up some dizzyingly tantalizing concoctions. Try a “Bog on Fire,” with Vida Mezcal, Hanger One Mandarin Blossom Vodka, Rabarbaro Zucca Amaro, lemon, cranberry syrup and grated cinnamon. Or a “Raising Manhattan,” with Laird’s Bonded Apple Brandy, Channing Daughters Vervino Variation 1, Lustau San Emilio Pedro Ximenez Sherry and Chocolate Mole Bitters. We could go on but suggest you check it out for yourself.
Designed by the famed Gachot Studios, Andrew Carmellini’s latest establishment features Scandinavian and mid-century furniture, a large, classy mahogany bar and a four-panel mural of Tribeca’s history by Brooklyn artist, Matthew Benedict. Wherever you’re from, it’s pretty easy to feel right at home at Evening Bar (located at 85 West Broadway).
