El Luchador Unmasks Itself In Lower Manhattan

12/12/2014

Have you been looking for a quirky taco joint located in an former old stable with a Mexican wrestling theme? Well, you’re in luck! El Luchador has joined the resurgence of the South Street Seaport, serving up some mean tacos, burritos, sopas and quesadillas.

The food packs a punch, or should we say a body-slam (the restaurant’s logo also looks a bit like Jack Black’s masked nemesis in the movie Nacho Libre).

It’s hard to write this blog without drooling on the keyboard, just thinking about beer-battered cod tacos with Sriracha mayo. There is also an adobe-grilled skirt steak with sweet onions and the restaurant’s special El Luchador sauce made with guajillo and ancho chiles.

By this point, I hope you’ve stopped reading this blog and are on your way to El Luchador for a Mexican flavored face-off!
