A Wing and a Prayer

BonChon Chicken on John Street has been through a lot since it opened a few years ago: the Korean wing restaurant was battered by Hurricane Sandy in October 2012, and then just two months later, a kitchen fire forced BonChon to close again, this time for four months.

They’ve been open since April with no further mishaps, and recently celebrated their resilience with a wing-eating contest that drew an enthusiastic crowd of supporters who gathered to cheer on the contestants. The winner netted a $100 gift certificate for, of course, more wings.

Come by, and help BonChon celebrate with an order of wings, or, for those seeking a lunch food that doesn’t require quite as many napkins, the restaurant offers a few bowl options, soups and noodles.
