Enter the Sandman

You don’t have to be on the beach to check out a fantastical 18-foot-high sandcastle, complete with moats, turrets and bridges, sculpted by artist Matt Long.

The castle resides on a Water Street pedestrian plaza at Two New York Plaza, and will be on display through August 12.

The sculpture is part of the Water Street Pops! program, a series of activities and special events in privately owned public spaces along the Water Street corridor, and the SEE/CHANGE program, provided by the Howard Hughes Corporation at the South Street Seaport.

Upcoming events include sunrise yoga, yogurt tasting, happy hours, and a matchmaker cafe. For more information, check out:
